WORK EXPERIENCE
Internship - Shona Jewellery : August 2014 - Present
Working alongside a successful jeweller with a high attention to detail and precision has
already been extremely useful. As well as learning more about running a successful jewellery business I have been able to use materials and techniques which I don’t frequently use in my own work. This allows me to be a more confident jeweller as well as help with stock for a busy period ahead.
The Hidden Gem Jewellery Fair - Founder/Creator : Jan 2013 - Dec 2013
I had the opportunity to organise and run a jewellery fair in the heart of the West End of Glasgow. It involved getting a name, a venue, jewellers, advertisement and the support of the public also. Using social media such as twitter, instagram and facebook I was also able to advertise the event. My aim was to support young, student jewellers or recent graduates
get experience of a commercial environment selling their handmade jewellery. It was hard work but satisfying and also really exciting. Due to being in my final year and difficulty with securing a venue every month the fair had to be put on hold.
