Beth Spowart comes from Dundee, Scotland and has just completed her studies with a first class honours degree from Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design. She is looking forward to starting as an Artist in Residence at DJCAD for the year 2014/15. One of her own goals for the year is to create an innovative collection that has progressed from her degree show and embodies the start of her jewellery career and business. Having showcased her work at New Designers in London this past summer she has been successful in gaining attention and securing interest from galleries in London and Glasgow.

Beth applies her passion for innovative materials and the inspiration of her urban surroundings in Dundee to produce creative and striking pieces of jewellery. Using her love of dyed aluminium and structural shapes she produces colourful and interactive wearable objects to be enjoyed differently by each individual wearer. She has developed and experimented with the colour changing material to develop the interactivity between the piece and the wearer to gain maximum change.  Her aim is to create beautiful wearable objects that promote happiness and are a joy for each individual to wear.
