Education

1997-1998       The Design Fellowship; a scheme to teach business skills and help launch arts based businesses.

1994-1996       HND in Silversmithing and Jewellery Design at Birmingham’s School of Jewellery. Passed with merits and won the William Kendrick award for dedication.

1993-1994       BTEC Art foundation course at Amersham & Wycombe College. Passed with Merits

1991-1993       A Levels at Lord Williams School, Thame. Art, passed grade B, Craft Design & Technology, passed grade D.

1986-1991       Lord William’s School, Thame. Achieved GCSE’s in the following subjects:- English Literature and Language, Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Geography, German, Design & Technology, Art.

 

Work experience

2009-current    Jewellery designer and maker. Working from home supplying trade (Jewellery shops and galleries) and retail customers.

2009                I made the decision to close “Q Jewellery” on 23rd December  and    concentrate on what I love the most, designing and making.

2006                Relocated the business to Cambridge and expanded the business by opening my own retail shop, trading as “Q Jewellery”.

2005                Won the British Jewellers Association award for Excellence in Jewellery.

2000                Full-time in my business, after a successful application for funding.

1999-2000       Walk About Bar, Broad Street, Birmingham. Part-time. Bar staff in main bar and sole bar staff for functions in private bar.

1998-2000       Midland Metal Alloys. Part-time. Assisted in making standard lamps and light switch front plates found in hotels.

1998-current    Started my own business on a part-time bases, working from a shared studio in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter, designing and making jewellery for both trade and retail customers.

1998                Weatherspoons pub, Broad Street, Birmingham. Bar staff, part-time.

1996-1997       Optical, Thame. Assisted in the production of screens for electronic signs. Full-time
