Sarah Collins
Sarah
discovered early on her passion for collecting. She found beauty
in that tiny glinting sparkle on the footpath and took delight in
the gathering of small things.
She became fascinated with adornment and decoration. There was a
natural progression to study Jewellery Design at Sheffield Hallam
University. During this time she was awarded a travel bursary from
the Worshipful Company of Cutlers in Hallamshire, which allowed
her to study for 6 months in Seoul at Kookmin University. She graduated
from Sheffield in 2003 with a 2:1 BA Hons.
The time she spent in Korea has influenced her designs vastly and
inspired a great passion for travel. Sarah then took the opportunity
to explore the globe with her camera and sketchbook. Travel photography
and collecting found objects allowed her to document her journey.
On her return she studied further under the guidance of Chris Philipson
MA RCA developing her silversmithing and goldsmithing techniques.
Sarah launched her collection in 2006. She creates designer jewellery
from her studio in Harrogate. She is happy to work to commission
and specialises in bespoke bridal tiaras.
