Phoebe Coleman
After graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of
Leeds, and a brief career in puppetry, Londoner Phoebe Coleman
began her career as a jewellery designer. She stumbled across a studio
in a San Diego Eucalyptus grove, where the burning torches, molten
metal and hammering sounds were too tempting to resist. Using the
skills she had learnt in painting, sculpture and installation; she applied
her creative practice to jewellery making and design, exploring all the
facilities available to her in that California studio.
When Phoebe returned to London, she began working for Siobhan
O’Neill at Sweet Pea in Primrose Hill, a fine jewellery company with a
fashion edge and a cult following in Japan. Phoebe started in
production, until she became Siobhan’s right hand woman in the
design process. After five years, Phoebe began her own company
under her name, and her own mission: to design classic, beautifully
made, simple and bold jewellery for design conscious people.
