‘Cluster’- Bracelet in oxidised silver with green amethysts

Kate Wood specialises in distinctive contemporary beaded jewellery.
Inspired by natural forms, from blossom and berries to rock formations and barnacle colonies, Kate’s jewellery
explores growth through the accretion of individual elements. These take the form of semi-precious beads and
pearls, which form clusters and creep across surfaces.
Each bead is attached to a hand-made silver pin, and meticulously wrapped and ‘woven’ onto chains.
Different finishes are achieved with oxidisation and gold-plating.
The resulting pieces are delicate in scale, with a mysterious, antique quality and simple organic form. Tactile
and kinetic, they are flattering and subtly glamorous.
