'Glow' - earrings in silicone, silver. light-gathering acrylic, glow powder

My work takes inspiration from the luminous colours, shapes and movement of creatures from the deep. I take these elements and transform them in to playful jewellery. My pieces move with the wearer, some glow in the dark and others change colour as they are worn. Colour has always been a significant visual feature in my jewellery, the process of introducing new colour surfaces and materials into my work is important to how my pieces develop.
By using the translucent qualities of silicone and introducing phosphorescent and bright colour pigments, I combine these with the shifting reflective surfaces of metal and plastics to convey some of the qualities of underwater life forms in my pieces.
