Sally Cox

Sally’s work takes classical elements and gives them a contemporary twist. By looking at the traditional use of silverware and its style she finds modern ways to interpret these pieces.  Through mixing these inspirational starting points Sally then introduces her love of ironwork and origami. She makes work driven by pure elegant forms reflecting the traditional while being a current piece for any household. By producing functional tableware Sally’s hope is that she can bring something special to the plate, to be enjoyed every day.

Forging is Sally’s main technique, a method of using a range of hammers and steel stakes to move metal into her flowing forms. This combined with a range of fabrication skills means she has an ability to transform metal from its current form into something completely new.
