Chris Philipson

Studied Silversmithing and Jewellery at Birmingham College of Art and the Royal College. I run a Design Workshop near Knaresborough, with a part time commitment at Harrogate College, teaching Jewellery and Silversmithing. Design work includes a wide range of metalsmithing commissions including Jewellery, Ecclesiastical pieces, Historic restoration work and Architectural items specialising in weather vanes. Recent work concentrates on Gold and Silver Gilt jewellery based on a long interest and understanding of traditional techniques used from the early Bronze age. Looking at surface texture and pattern formed within wrought shapes. Drawing ideas from careful observation and study of landscape and natural form.

and Cathy SutherlandSheffield. There will be new collections of wedding and engagement rings, tiaras, cufflinks and bridesmaid jewellery by a wide of range of renowned jewellers including Mirri Damer who has recently made wedding rings for Dawn French and Malcolm Morris who created the tiaras for Gwyneth Paltrow in Shakespeare in Love. We will also be having a wide selection of work by other Yorkshire jewellers including Pamela DickinsonDriffield; Adele Taylor, Sheffield; Anthony Blakeney, Leeds; Chris Boland, Sheffield; Angela KnipeScarborough,
and Chris Philipson, Knaresborough.
