‘Fresia’ necklace in paper and twine

Ana Hagopian
My contact with paper began when I was a child. I played in the forest and collected found
treasures. All the leaves, seeds and stones.
I chose paper because of its humility and friendliness. I don’t have to fight with paper, I can
just touch it and try to translate the old forest with its sounds and colours and my joy of playing in it.
Overlapping, light and darkness, unlimited combinations that open a world of
textures and shapes. Paper for me is an answer towards a way of understanding the
ephemeral, the continuous change and a way to provoke.
The preciousness is not in its
value as a material; rather, it's in the piece itself that evokes the freshness at first sight.
