Deana Baker

Date of birth: 05/06/1987

As a designer my greatest strength is my passion for exploring design and manufacturing process’s. I have acquired skills in conversing with manufacturing suppliers and ensuring the aesthetics’ and functionality of each design is monitored and carried out professionally.
I have a strong capability in the visualization of my jewellery products and the knowledge and passion to carry forward these concepts and make them become reality.
Through out my 6 years experience in Art and Design education I have accumulated successful skills in project work from setting briefs, idea development and final outcomes.
Working in a studio background has developed my ability to critically observe and analyze my designs and explore technologies to come up with the appropriate making possibilities for specific work, additionally it has also gave me excellent skills in communicating my ideas to other designers and technicians.
Presentations have been extremely prominent in my time in education which has helped me acquire the confidence and skill to carry them out successfully.

BA (hons) Three Dimensional Design
I have just completed my final year on the Three Dimensional Design course and will be progressing onto the forth year titled ‘Creative Business Development’.

At my third year degree show I was awarded the award from ‘Innospace’. This is a program at the MMU Business Incubator. The program focuses on business start ups offering business support, coaching and mentoring and access to professional services. The award has given me a year’s office space and access to all the facilities provided.

I completed this one year degree and was awarded a Distinction grade.

BTEC National Diploma in Interior Design
On this full time course I achieved a DDM (Double Distinction, merit) as well as being awarded the course ‘student of the year’.
